_/_// GAME SOFTWARE, SENSORS, PROJECTOR, AND TRADITIONAL RAW MATERIALS

On part of an exhibition in the International Media Arts Gallery within the Media Elite HQ building at ICUC/CUC
in Beijing China, a sculptural installation was created for a showcase between the artist (Benjamin Poynter; "Experimental Computer
Games") amidst his additional works and midterm evaluation works from MFA candidates ("Fabrication of Data") for NYIT-Beijing.
The work and namesake of Resurrect From Digital is a reference to the process of bringing digital [3D] objects and
data into the physical realm. This sculpture, using primitive and traditional materials, borrows from the process of
3D printing; only the 'printing' and sculpture by done by hand instead of machine. Through the added layer of
projected light-mapping, a newly born physical object is returned to the digital aesthetic in physical space. Concept
of the work borrows from a mix of fables concerning the 'Phoenix/Fenghuang'. It is as a tribute to the culture the work
was created in while contextualizing meaning.
